ABOUT THE MARKET
Sorrento Village Farmers’ Market was formed in 2000 with an aim to achieve some simple, yet important goals.
- To provide those who “make, bake, or grow” goods in the local area a local venue for sale of their quality goods.
- To provide a local gathering place for people to visit their neighbours on a regular basis.
- To assist in establishing a sense of community for the Sorrento area.
- To encourage traffic in the ‘downtown’ core of Sorrento.
These benchmarks and the commitment and passion of our many volunteers have contributed to our successful longevity.
Each year a new executive is elected at our Annual General Meeting in February. Our volunteer Board members play a key role in the overall success of the market by staying in touch with the needs of our customers, vendors and community.
We are a registered non-profit society and operate under the policies and guidelines as set out by the BC Societies Act.
As proud members of the BC Association of Farmers’ Markets we are passionate in our goal to support sustainable, local agriculture and our many talented, local artisans in a vibrant gathering place for the local community and visitors to the Beautiful Shuswap.
